Ankeny's Sports Complex brings in many sporting events. We have a trail system that connects to the High Tressle Trail and bike system within Iowa. We have an excellent parks & recreation system. Craft sales and shopping are located in Ankeny with local restaurants to fulfill any appetite. Wonderful churches to attend. Every summer on the weekend following the fourth of July, we have our community event, Ankeny SummerFest, that runs Thursday through Sunday night. We bring bands every night, a Carnival, concessions, many activities, a parade on Saturday morning, family friendly events and fireworks on Sunday evening of SummerFest (Visit www.ankenysummerfest.org).
