We're also manageable drives or train rides from most major East Coast cities, like New York, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Baltimore! (Not to mention an hour or less away from Hershey, Gettysburg, Lancaster, Harrisburg and York.)

   Many opportunities to move outside. Carlisle Parks and Recreation can provide maps to the area's local trails and parks. Dickinson College athletics gives casual sports enthusiasts the opportunity to support a local team. The Downtown Carlisle Association and the Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce are very involved in developing events for the community including Taste of Carlisle, Ice Fest, and First Friday events through the winter. Carlisle has a blossoming downtown and a variety of restaurants including Italian, Indian, Nepalese, English, Mexican, and Belgian cuisine.
