Situated 25 minutes from downtown Dallas, residents enjoy the comforts of a rural community with the conveniences of big city living just a short drive away. Kaufman is a very friendly community that has a stellar school system, active church communities and lots of local flavor. Kaufman has a good mix of local, regional & national retailers and restaurants, some featured on our historic town square.

There are also community theatres in Terrell and Ennis, both of which are within a 30-minute drive. Re: Walking paths and parks, the City of Kaufman is working to upgrade the park properties in Kaufman, including adding an Inclusive playground to City Lakes Park, and is working towards a walking/running path circling the city, parts of which are already in place.
