The community college is in the adjacent community and Cal State East Bay just "over the hill" which has a strong Scholar Ollie lecture series.

Ballet comes to our El Campanil Theatre showcasing the "Nutcracker" at Christmas. We have a strong arts and cultural foundation that puts on festivals, community events and cultural events, plus numerous civic groups that also sponsor events; such as "Celebrate Antioch" which puts on a spectacular 4th of July and a Christmas themed "Holiday Delites" with lighted boat parade on the river. Because of our diverse ethnic community, our parades have a delightful range of participants - which also includes are various festivities. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration, Cesar Chavez and Day of the Dead have been prominently acknowledged in our community - among others.
