Scarborough is Maine’s 10th largest municipality and one of the fastest growing areas in Maine, and the Scarborough Community Chamber of Commerce is pleased to support this growth. Part of the dynamic Greater Portland metro area, the Town of Scarborough is known for its quality of place to live, work, do business, vacation and play with a robust but tranquil lifestyle. Scarborough received the 2013 Google eCity Award recognizing the strongest online business community in each state. Founded in 1658, our town is now home to nearly 20,000 residents and 1,500 businesses.

Scarborough, situated on the coast seven miles southwest of Portland, is a pleasant commuter town with a thriving business community. Within Scarborough, you’ll find the Maine Audubon Nature Center and conservation lands such as the Fuller Farm, the Broadturn Farm, the Eastern Trail, and The Spurwink River Division of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. The scenic 3,100 acre Scarborough Salt Marsh is Maine’s largest salt water marsh. Our 70 square miles include some of Maine’s finest beaches and shoreline, golf courses, recreational opportunities and world-class shopping locations.
