Angel Fire is situated along the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway in Northern New Mexico. At 8,600 ft. elevation, Angel Fire is bounded on the west side of the valley with Wheeler Peak, New Mexico’s highest mountain peak at 13,600 ft. and on the east by Agua Fria Peak at 10,600 ft.
Angel Fire has a small airport that can accommodate single and twin-engine airplanes as well as small to large corporate jets on a runway with 8,900 length. The runway is the fifth highest runway in the nation at 8,600 ft. elevation.
The main roadway entrance to Angel Fire is US Hwy 64, an all-season roadway that is maintained in the winter for easy access.

Angel Fire is an “outdoor community” with excellent recreational opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, golf, tennis, horseback riding and fishing in the summer months. Throughout the winter season, its time for skiing, snowboarding, sleigh rides and other outdoor snow sports.

Many artists of various disciplines call Angel Fire home. Each year, during the month of August, Angel Fire hosts the world-renowned chamber music festival, Music from Angel Fire. Throughout the summer there are concerts in the park with area and regional performing artists.

Angel Fire has a community clinic, dentist, chiropractor and various alternative practice therapists for medical issues. For major medical issues, the closest hospital is in Taos, NM which is half an hour away.
