Birmingham is enjoying another season of the opening of a new baseball stadium for the Birmingham Barons, the city’s AA team and farm league for the White Sox. Regions Field, located across the street from beautiful Railroad Park, is designed with a commanding view of the downtown skyline. The weather is generously comfortable, which is one smart reason golfers come here from around the world. The other reason is the lure of handsome and challenging public golf courses. With the development of the state’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, Alabama became the Godfather of Great Golf. If there’s one particular activity that’s favored over any other for visitors to Birmingham, it likely is dining. Excellent chef-owned restaurants are plentiful around the area, from high-end dining in the posh suburb of Mountain Brook to one of the South’s longest steam tables at Niki’s West. Few cities can claim a better cluster of top-notch dining rooms than in downtown Birmingham,
