The Blanco area community is mostly rural, with active city squares containing dining establishments and merchants. A great deal of events throughout the year bring visitors to town that increase the local economy.

   Blanco is home to the Blanco State Park offering Blanco River access. Fishing, kayaking, canoeing, hiking and many events throughout the year in the park featuring nature events. We are a also a night sky friendly community so star gazing is a popular activity. Many larger cities are within a one hour drive for individuals seeking more things to see and do.

Cultural Activities





A wide range of music is always available. Several dining establishments offer live music on the weekends. Twin Sisters Dance hall has a monthly dance featuring local bands, primarily in the genre of country/western. A local non-profit has a classical music series every year. Arts in the Park is new for 2016, featuring artists wanting to increase their following in an outdoor park amphitheatre.
