Franklin County is a small farming community with lots of recreation and amenities. Close to Indianapolis and Cincinnati. We have the beautiful Brookville Lake, Pre Civil War Historical Town of Metamora and the German Catholic town of Oldenburg.

We have several state trails along with the Whitewater Canal Trails. Our town park has a new walking trail. There are 3 golf courses, a state park with lake for fishing and hunting, and some of the best Fly Fishing in the area. Canoeing, Zipling, bike trails and so much more.

2 local groups bring in several concerts, art and theater to our area. The Metamora Performing Arts and the Franklin County Arts Council. We have a wonderful library that has 2 locations in the county for easy assess with a large genealogical department.
