Downtown Corydon offers the rich history of early Indiana Statehood; the First State Capitol Building, the 2nd governor's office/resident, first state office building (auditor & treasure offices), the constitution elm where it is said the state constitution was drafted under the tree's shade, and other early 1800's structures. Within the county you can find Squire Boone Cavern & Gristmill discovered by Daniel Boone's brother, Squire; Indiana Caverns one of the longest cave systems in Indiana; Corydon Battle Park the only Civil War Battle in Indiana; Buffalo Trace Park offers a 30 acre lake with a beach, fishing, and camping; Hayswood Nature Reserve with green space, lake and walking paths; South Harrison Park includes an Olympic size pool, picnic areas and hiking. There are three golf courses; Old Capitol Golf Club, New Salisbury golf course, and Chariot Run a PGA Tour condition standards. You can zipline through the tree tops at Squire Boone Zipline, canoe down the Blue River, or visit our five award winning wineries. If outdoor recreation is your thing there are hiking trails, bike trails, running trails, horseback riding trails, camping, etc. in O'Bannon Woods State Park as well as our local county parks.
