There are lodging options to fit any budget, including hotels, camping and cabins. Restaurants include fast food to fine dining and a coffee shop. We have many attractions, including Summersville Lake-offering swimming, boating, kayaking, a lighthouse overlooking the lake, hiking trails, and a winery. There are numerous antique and primitive shops. There are also many gorgeous overlooks. It is the perfect place to visit or to settle down.

   Summersville offers adventure on Summersville Lake--boating, kayaking, swimming, jet skiing, tubing, stand up paddle boarding and a man made beach area. Sarge's Dive Shop offers lake dinner cruises in season. There is also a lighthouse with 122 steps to the top--beautiful view of the lake. You will definitely enjoy Kirkwood Winery--stop by for a tour and a tasting--33 different varieties of wine. There are many hiking trails and overlooks to enjoy.

There are many festivals--Gauley Fest, Grape Stomping Festival, and the Nicholas County Potato Festival. There is a also a county fair.

Summersville is also the home of the Summersville Arena & Conference Center, which offers many community events.


Cultural Activities





The Public Library offers a variety of events for folks of all ages. The Summmersville Arena & Conference Center hosts concerts and dinner theatres. The City Pavilion is the site of summer concerts beginning in June and continuing through August.
