Sun City Center is comprised of six beautiful, individual housing communities situated along palm tree-lined roads with small lakes and ponds dotting the landscapes. One and two-story, single-family homes and duplex villa homes range in price from around $80,000 to $400,000.

Sun City Center has a post office, shopping centers, medical facilities, banks and houses of worship.

In addition to superb living accommodations, residents (for a yearly membership fee) have access to indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, shuffleboards, pickle ball courts, lawn bowling greens, fitness and hobby centers, game and meeting rooms and a 10,000-square-foot theater with top-name entertainment.

   There are an abundance of recreation activities and events in Sun City Center, including more than 140 holes of golf (Sun City Center is home to the internationally known Ben Sutton School of Golf).

The Sun City Center Area Chamber of Commerce presents outstanding events each year. For example, in the spring, the Chamber hosts its fabulous trade fair, followed by a spectacular business expo in the fall.

Sun City Center is also convenient to just about anywhere in Central Florida.

Tampa Bay—Sun City Center’s big city neighbor—is home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Super Bowl champions in 2003), the Tampa Bay Rays and the Tampa Bay Lightning (winners of the Stanley Cup in 2004).

Tampa also offers a wealth of cultural activities including the Tampa Museum of Art, the Florida International Museum, the Henry B. Plant Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Salvador Dali Museum, Buckley Moss Museum and the Florida Aquarium. The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center features live music performances, and the Tampa Bay Symphony performs regularly.

The Tampa Electric Company Manatee/Tidal Flats Walk provides visitors with an opportunity to stroll along a boardwalk through the tidal flats, see wild manatees and learn more through the environmental education center. The 1,600-acre Little Manatee State Recreation Area is about four miles south of Sun City Center. Simmons County Park is also nearby.

Thoroughbred horses run at Florida Downs, January through March, and greyhound racing takes place at Tampa Greyhound Racing and Derby Lanes in St. Petersburg, January to June.

We are within easy access of the Salvador Dali Museum, the Chihuli Exhibit, and the Museum of Science and Industry as well as the Straz Theater of the Performing Arts and Ruth Eckard Hall where nationally renowned artists perform. We are also home to the Florida Symphony Orchestra.

Public transportation




Situated along the western edge of South Central Florida, Sun City Center is within a half hour’s drive of Tampa, a quick 20-minute commute to Apollo Beach and less than 40 miles from Sarasota and St. Petersburg.

The community’s accessibility to major roads—including U.S. 301, Interstate 75, State Roads 674 and 60, U.S. 41, I-275, I-4 and the Selmon Expressway—helps to make traveling quick and convenient for motorists.

Golf carts are an additional mode of transportation within Sun City Center and public transportation is available through the Hillsborough Area Regional Transit (HARTline). The Sun City Center’s Mini Bus Club also provides exciting travel opportunities.

For those who need to travel by air, the Tampa, the St. Petersburg/Clearwater and the Sarasota/Bradenton international airports are all nearby.

Humidity with lots of moisture in the air may feel oppressive. Expect a lot of rainy days in the Summer.
