   Locally we offer fishing, crabbing, clam digging, beachcombing and whale watching. We also have shopping, dining, fresh seafood markets, craft breweries and wineries, Washington state's tallest lighthouse and a great maritime museum. A short drive to Aberdeen offers access to cinemas, community theater and music venues.

Cultural Activities


Westport and the South Beach area offer many special events. Every April you can attend the Crab Races and crab feed. June's event is Rusty Scuppper's Pirate Daze. July brings an old fashioned 4th celebration at the Maritime Museum. August features a juried Westport Art Festival. September is all about seafood and you can attend the annual Seafood Festival or celebrate our fishing way of life at the annual Salmon Tales. October is the cranberry harvest festival with vendors and artists selling and showing items from homemade jam to giant wood carvings and everything in between. We have community theater and a wonderful concert venue just a short distance from the area.
