Macon-Bibb County offers many amenities for outdoor living. Lake Tobesofkee boasts 35 miles of shoreline and offers facilities and areas where people can camp, boat and fish. The city and county have several golf courses and tennis courts open to the public. In additional to the numerous options to plan one's own outdoor fun, the region has several festivals, outdoor activities and concerts. Each year in March, Macon hosts the International Cherry Blossom festival which celebrates over 350,000 Yoshino Cherry Trees in our region. We also have the Mulberry Streets Arts Festival (arts & crafts), the Tubman Pan African Festival (African and African-American culture), Fired Works: Regional Ceramics Exhibition & Sale, Bragg Jam music festival, Macon Film Festival and the Ocmulgee Indian Celebration (Native American heritage).
Macon also offers outdoor music concerts with the Second Sunday series where there are free live concerts in Washington Park during the summer and fall months, the Macon Pops which is an orchestra that plays pop music, among many other live musical activities.
