The Pearce/Sunsites area is and has been a Retirement location since the 70's. Cochise County is the Old West's History capital of the world. From Doc and Wyatt, to Cochise and Geronimo, to Fort Bowie to Fort Huachucua, the old west comes alive. Sunsites is located about 40 miles from Tombstone. "The Town Too Tough To Die"

Birding: Southeast Arizona is the Hummingbird capital of the US due to the migratory routes from as far as Bolivia. There have been 14 different species recorded here. The Sulphur Springs Valley is the winter home to Sandhill Cranes that migrate here from as far as Siberia. Every January, our local area is home to the "Wings Over Willcox" festival. Our visitors come from all corners of the globe to attend this 7 day event.
Astronomy is one of our area's largest drawing cards. Our very dark nighttime skies have lured several large telescopes here from private owners to the University of Arizona.

The immediate Sunsites area has a medical clinic that is well staffed. We have a regional hospital in Willcox, AZ which is about a 20 minute drive. There are several major hospitals in Tucson. For major emergencies, Life Flight is available right here in Sunsites.
