Texarkana, Texas is a city in Bowie County, Texas, United States, located in the Ark-La-Tex region. Together with neighboring Texarkana, Arkansas, it forms the community of Texarkana.    Here you will find a variety of restaurants, museums, theaters, art and great places for indoor and out door entrainment. Texarkana has a variety of antique and specialty shops for home decorating. One of our most visible clusters is in the hostility industry. Two new conventions centers and twelve new hotels have been opened within the last five years. Texarkana has an expansive Transportation network which include Interstate 30 as well as the I-49 and I-69 corridors and an improved state highway system.

The Four States Fairground welcomes the Four States Fair and Rodeo each year. The Fairgrounds are located a directly across from city park which has lighted walking trails and fishing. Texarkana Repertory (TEX-REP) Company, is a non-profit organization that provides the community’s theatre’ at the Stillwell on the Texarkana College campus. They collaborate with the Texarkana College students for two out of the four shows they have per season. TEX-REP also showcase local talent by holding auditions open to the community for all ages. For 23 yeas TEX-REP continues to create shows that the community can laugh, cry, and learn from. The venue for our local festivals is downtown Front Street This outdoor venue has been the location for Mardi Gras Festivities, Railfest Concerts, Oktoberfest Celebrations, NFL weekend and staging areas for parades and outreach events.


Cultural Activities


In recent years our cultural arts have developed nicely the Texarkana Regional Arts & Humanities Council is the art, entertainment, and arts education hub of Texas and Arkansas. From theater performances to fine art exhibits and arts classes for kids and adults, as well as Professional Development for arts educators, you will find your inspiration with TRAHC! The Texarkana Symphony Orchestra (TSO) primarily performed their concerts in the beautiful, historic Perot Theatre in downtown Texarkana, USA.

The Perot Theatre was fully restored in 1924 and host plays, concerts and other forms of entertainment. The museum of Regional History is the oldest brick buildings in Texarkana and is a genealogist dream. The Ace of Clubs House represent the best example of Classical Revival style. Public transportation


The Texarkana Urban Transit District is known locally as the T-Line. Texarkana mass transit system is very small. Operating hours are from 6:00am to 6:30 pm. There are seven routes that cover about 90% of the shopping and business routes. Ark-Tex Council of Governments Rural Transit District (TRAX) provides low-cost transportation for residents of Bowie, Cass, Delta, Franklin, Hopkins, Lamar, Morris, Red River and Titus counties from their homes or other designated pick up points to meet transportation needs. TRAX transportation can be used for transportation needs such as: Beauty Shop, Grocery Shopping, Bill Paying, Doctor Appointments, to and from work and Banking.

Medical Facilities


Christus St. Michael Health System is a Catholic, faith-based health system that offer a full scope of expensive health care services. The campus sits on 129 acres and includes a 312 bed acute-care hospital; a 50 bed rehabilitation hospital; a outpatient rehabilitation center; an outpatient imaging center; and a community health and fitness center. Collom and Carney is a multi-specialty physicians group practice with physicians and staff committed to providing quality health care and services.

Wadley regional Medical Center is a 370 bed, state of the art hospital that offers comprehensive healthcare services including emergency care, heart care, and advance surgical procedures. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is one of 8 regional centers across the state and is home to the UAMS College of Health Professionals. The UAMS mission is; Teaching, Healing, Searching and Serving.
