Area Description

Beautiful rolling hills, seasonal creeks and rivers, farms and ranches, moderately priced homes in town, over 64 wineries, breweries and distilleries in the area. Historical Parks - LBJ Presidential Hometown and the President and First Lady's final resting place at the LBJ National Historical Park. Small town with 1800 people. One Hour and 1/2 to Austin the same for San Antonio both having major Airports. Two medical clinics in Johnson City, Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Baylor, Scott & White in Marble Falls. Optometry clinic opening in November 2018. Both about 2 hours away. The area is serviced by Air Evac (membership required but very reasonable) for emergencies.

We have two subsidized housing opportunities for wage based tenants. Some small cottages become available for sale from time to time. Land to build on is available outside of the city proper. It's best to contact a local realtor for availability.

Senior Assistance in Texas Hill Country

Texas Hill Country offers the following assistance for seniors:


Food pantry and we will be building in late 2018 a resource center to provide information to all citizens. The churches are very active in assisting senior citizens.

What Job or Volunteer Opportunities Does Texas Hill Country Offer For Retirees?

The Chamber of Commerce, Library, National and State Parks, Churches and if so desired the wineries are always looking for qualified part time people.
